Our company designs, builds, and delivers Commercial, Residential and Multi‑Family engineered structural building components throughout Michigan. We manufacture roof and floor trusses, wall panels, and stairs. Our labor division performs the field install of these products.
Wall Panel BuilderJob Description
- Responsible for assembling interior and/or exterior walls.
- Show/nail together wall components.
- Layout component materials or supplies on carts or floor.
- Stocks supplies and materials for assembly set‑up.
- Assist in the set‑up of component assembly process.
- Monitor production workflow process assisting other areas as needed.
- Load and band finished components on carts inside and/or outside.
- Maintain work area, keeping it neat and organized.
- Operate equipment necessary to the assembly process.
- Follow all safety rules and policies.
- Other duties and projects as assigned by management.
Job Description
- Assembles precut wooden parts to build trusses and similar supports or wall sections used in building construction.
- Moves specified precut parts to work area and positions parts in jig by hand or using overhead crane, following supervisor's instructions and blueprint specifications.
- Places metal reinforcement plates over connecting joints and connects parts at joints, using hammer, screwdriver, or pneumatic staple gun.
- Verifies dimensions of precut parts and accuracy of assembly, using ruler and gauges.
- Experience in the building trades preferred but not required.
- Willing to train motivated candidates.
- Must be able to lift 25 lbs repetitively throughout the day.
- Must be able to place proper material onto the setup, and able to read schematics.
- Ensure the quality of the components by following the standard operating procedures for all machines.
- Maintain station cleanup procedures.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures.
- Comply with all safety rules within the shop area and yard, including wearing proper PPE.
- Dependability and reliable transportation.
- Strong work ethic and organizational skills.
- Able to work while standing for extended periods of time.
This position requires majority of time spent in the Plant which will be heated in the winter months, and air‑conditioned in summer months.
Physical RequirementsMUST be able to lift 25 lbs repetitively throughout the day. A majority of time is spent standing or walking. While performing the duties of this job, the associate is frequently required to climb, balance, stoop and kneel. The associate may need to reach above shoulder heights or below waist and lift as required to move, stock, retrieve or store items or product throughout the workday with the ability to move lumber.
ExpectedHours of Work
This is a FULL‑TIME position. Typical work weeks will be 40 hours plus mandatory overtime if workload dictates, with variation due to seasonal business needs.
Education- High school or equivalent (Preferred)
- Construction: 1 year (Required)
- 8 hour shift
