General Summary

The Gage Tech will be responsible for addressing applicable issues or performing exchanges on all functional gages used in the manufacturing plant and will work closely with quality engineers and customers on gage correlation studies. This person will confirm that functional gage designs are consistent with company standards and perform gage R&R studies on new gages.

Essential Job Functions

Tasks listed are not meant to be all-encompassing:

  • Manage the overall usage and completeness of the plant Gage Trak or applicable database
  • Interpret engineering drawings and GD&T specifications
  • Identify possible improvements to existing gages
  • Make recommendations on the increase or decrease of frequency of calibrations based on historical
data
  • Complete a layered audit of floor gages on a monthly basis
  • Efficiently repair most mechanical and electronic gages
  • Assist the plant in trouble shooting any issues for the floor CMMs
  • Assist the Plant Maintenance group in the repair and troubleshooting of failing gages
  • Attend all required cross-functional meetings
  • Participate in gage recall and certification tracking activities
  • Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers
  • Assist with reporting and documenting Non-Conformances, Corrective Actions, and Continuous
Improvements
  • Maintain safety and good housekeeping standards for the site
  • Make decisions within the limits of general standards or procedures
  • Report near misses and incidents and cooperate with investigations

Education And Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 2-year degree in a related field or equivalent experience preferred


Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of standing and/or sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds at a time
  • Must be able to access, navigate, and work within a manufacturing facility that may or may not be
temperature controlled
