Job Description
As a Certified Heavy Duty Technician at Interstate Trucksource, you will be responsible for performing advanced diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on a wide range of heavy‑duty trucks and equipment. You will work with the latest tools and technology in the industry and be part of a team dedicated to delivering high‑quality service to our customers.
Key Responsibilities- Perform diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance on heavy‑duty trucks, trailers, and related equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Perform inspections on vehicles to ensure compliance with safety standards and manufacturer specifications.
- Repair or replace worn or damaged parts, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and suspension systems.
- Use advanced diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and resolve complex issues.
- Maintain accurate records of all services, repairs, and inspections.
- Collaborate with service managers and other technicians to resolve repair issues and improve workflow.
- Stay updated on industry trends and repair techniques.
Ensure a safe, organized, and clean work environment at all times.
- Certification as a Heavy Duty Technician (or equivalent).
- Minimum of [X] years of experience in heavy‑duty truck repair and maintenance.
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, braking systems, transmissions, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
- Proficiency with diagnostic equipment and computer‑based tools.
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work closely with customers and team members.
- Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred).
- Experience with specific brands such as Kenworth, Freightliner, Peterbilt, etc.
- Welding or fabrication experience.
- Proficiency in using fleet management software.
