Entry Level Technician – INTERSTATE TRUCK SOURCE INC.

As an Entry-Level Heavy Duty Technician at Interstate Truck source, you will receive on-the-job training to become proficient in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty trucks and equipment. You’ll be part of a dedicated team that works together to deliver high-quality service and support to our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in performing preventative maintenance and repairs on heavy-duty trucks and equipment.
  • Help diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues under the guidance of senior technicians.
  • Learn to use diagnostic tools and equipment to inspect and troubleshoot problems.
  • Assist with oil changes, brake checks, tire rotations, and other basic maintenance tasks.
  • Assist in disassembling and reassembling engine components and other mechanical systems.
  • Keep work area clean and organized, ensuring safety protocols are followed.
  • Communicate effectively with senior technicians and service managers about work progress and issues encountered.
  • Complete all necessary documentation and record keeping for services and repairs.
  • Follow all safety and environmental regulations during repairs and maintenance.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent (technical school education is a plus).
  • Interest in learning and growing within the heavy-duty truck industry.
  • Basic mechanical knowledge or hands‑on experience with vehicles is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle physical demands of the job.
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to follow instructions.
  • Good communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
  • Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred but not required).
Additional Skills (Preferred)
  • Some experience with automotive or heavy equipment maintenance is a plus.
  • Familiarity with basic hand tools and diagnostic equipment.
  • Basic computer skills.
