About Us

Resto Pros of Ann Arbor - Detroit is expanding across the southern metro Detroit area. We deliver 'white glove', immediate service to homeowners and businesses facing catastrophic property damage. We are specifically looking for professionals with advanced hazmat, CBRN, or environmental remediation experience to lead our most complex operations.

The Mission

As the Lead Mold and Water Restoration Technician, you are our dual-hatted specialist. You will lead our most complex, strict-containment mold remediation operations, while also taking on advanced water mitigation jobs to keep your team fully engaged. You will operate as a peer alongside our dedicated Water Leads, coordinating seamlessly to ensure the mutual success of the whole company.

We are currently laying the groundwork to become an official Department of Defense (DOD) Skill Bridge and Veterans Affairs (VA) On-the-Job Training (OJT) provider, and we need an elite standard-bearer to help us build our founding training cadre. As we scale the organization, you will have opportunities to expand your scope from on-site field leadership into higher-level operational management. Helping us build this pipeline, and eventually leading the future transitioning veterans who come through it, will be your mission and your legacy.

90-Day Integration Phase:

Your first 90 days will be focused on integrating into our specific systems, mastering our estimating software, and proving your leadership on active job sites (working out of shared vehicles) before fully taking the reins of your division.

Military Backgrounds Highly Encouraged:

While all honorably discharged veterans from any branch (including Space Force and non-technical roles) are encouraged to apply if they have a strong work ethic, this role is a direct civilian translation for:

  • Navy & Coast Guard (CG):
Damage Control man (DC) or Marine Science Technician (MST)
  • Army & United States Marine Corps (USMC):
Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) Specialists (74D/5711) or Engineers (12-series/1371)
  • Air Force:
Emergency Management / Civil Engineering (3E-series)

What You Will Do:

  • Lead both complex water mitigation and mold remediation services, including inspection, treatment, cleanup, and structural restoration.
  • Construct and manage strict containment zones to prevent cross-contamination.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers and insurance adjusters.
  • Create detailed estimates, utilize 3D scanning tools, and maintain flawless job documentation.

Qualifications:

  • 3 years of Mold and Water Mitigation/Restoration experience required.
  • Required

    Certifications:

Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC) Master Water Restorer (MWR) and Mold Remediation Specialist (MRS).

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to frequently transport and position water and mold restoration equipment weighing up to 50 lbs. independently and up to 150 lbs. with team-lift assistance or through the use of mechanical aids (e.g., dollies, hand trucks) as required by site conditions.
  • Ability to perform technical restoration tasks in restricted-access environments, including crawl spaces, attics, and elevated surfaces, like working at ceiling height on a ladder. Must be physically capable of ascending/descending ladders and working in areas with limited clearance while utilizing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Ability to maintain physical activity and stamina throughout the duration of an emergency response shift (typically 8–12 hours), including the frequent use of hand tools, and the manual manipulation of structural materials and contents.

Total Compensation & Benefits:

  • Pay: $25.00 - $32.00 per hour.
  • Overtime & Holidays:
    Time-and-a-half for OT;
