IntroductionThe Electrical Facilities Manager is responsible for the safe, efficient operation of the company’s electrical infrastructure, including power generation, distribution, HVAC, refrigeration and lighting systems. The role is also responsible for the installation, testing, and maintenance of electrical systems and equipment, ensuring compliance with statutory and quality requirements, and mitigating associated risks.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
- Direct the maintenance and operations of electrical, HVAC, refrigeration and mechanical systems by conducting routine inspections and repairs.
- Ensure compliance & safety by acting as a technical signatory, ensuring adherence to the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Act, and issuing Certificates of Compliance (CoCs).
- Oversight of Backup Power by managing, testing, and maintaining generators and inverters to ensure operational continuity. ·
- Vendor management including negotiating Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with contractors and supervising on-site technical teams.
- Managing facilities budgets and optimizing repair and maintenance (R&M) costs.
- Design, develop, and review electrical systems, circuits, and layouts ·
- Prepare technical drawings, specifications, and documentation
- Preparing, understanding and implementing designs from technical drawings
- Conduct feasibility studies, calculations, and risk assessments
- Oversee installation, commissioning, and testing of electrical systems
- Troubleshoot, maintain, and optimise electrical equipment and infrastructure
- Ensure compliance with electrical codes, safety regulations, and industry standards
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, contractors, and suppliers
- Support project planning, budgeting, and timelines ·
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system performance and efficiency
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship where required
- Inspecting electrical components during and after the product installation
- Interacting with contractors and customers using verbal and written communication
- Making presentations to internal and external stakeholders
- Creating product documentation and records

REQUIRED MINIMUM EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATION
- A degree or relevant qualification in Electrical Engineering or related field
- Experience in medium and low voltage (MV & LV) in the electrical infrastructure
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED TO DO THE JOB
- 3–7 years’ experience in facilities management including maintenance of LV and MV electrical infrastructure, industrial HVAC and Refrigeration preferably with multi-site exposure
- Practical experience with industrial HVAC and refrigeration infrastructure
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, controls, and power distribution
- Proficiency in MS Office, strong problem-solving and time management skills
- Experience with relevant software and electrical design tools desirable
- Familiarity with local electrical codes and safety standards
- Onsite / plant-based work as required
- After-hours support and occasional travel will be required
