Project Draughtsman

We are a leading engineering firm based in the Chamdor, West Rand specialising in the design and manufacturing of innovative solutions, particularly in the agri-food sector and conveyor system.

We are seeking a skilled Project Draughtsman to join our dynamic team.

• Manage Project from initial client brief through planning, design, fabrication, installation, and final commissioning.
• Develop concept layouts, detailed designs, fabrication drawings, shop detailing, and complete project documentation in collaboration with project engineers.
• Prepare bills of materials, source and procure materials and buyout items, and coordinate suppliers to meet project schedules.
• Monitor project progress throughout fabrication and installation, provide technical support, oversee site activities, and ensure successful project completion on time and within budget.
• Develop accurate 3D Models and 2D technical drawings using Inventor and AutoCAD.
• Collaborate with engineers and project managers to interpret design specifications and translate them into detailed drawings.
• Assist in the development of prototypes and manufacturing processes.
• Maintain an up-to-date understanding of engineering technologies and industry trends.
• Assist in preparing documentation and technical reports for projects.

• Diploma or certificate in Draughting or a related field.
• Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Inventor or equivalent).
• Strong understanding of engineering and manufacturing processes.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in the agri-food sector or conveyor systems would be advantageous.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines effectively.
• Minimal 8 years working experience in similar position.
