Head of Operations: Warehouse & Logistics

Duties:

• Develop and execute the company's logistics strategy in line with business objectives.
• Lead all warehousing, inventory, transport and distribution operations across multiple locations.
• Drive improvements in productivity, cost efficiency, service levels and operational performance.
• Ensure accurate inventory management and stock integrity through robust warehouse controls.
• Manage third-party logistics providers (3PLs), freight partners and transport contracts.
• Monitor and improve OTIF (On-Time In-Full) delivery performance.
• Establish and report on key logistics KPIs and operational dashboards.
• Identify opportunities for process optimisation.
• Manage compliance with health and safety legislation, company policies and industry best practices.
• Develop warehouse layouts, storage strategies and capacity planning initiatives.
• Lead business continuity planning for logistics operations.
• Drive warehouse automation and technology improvements, including Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
• Prepare and manage logistics budgets and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Build, coach and develop high-performing logistics teams.
• Work closely with Sales, Procurement, Finance, Customer Experience and Service departments to ensure seamless order fulfilment.

• Relevant Degree in Operations Management, Logistics, Supply Chain, or Engineering
• Postgraduate qualification or (MBA will be an advantage)
• At least 5 – 7 years warehouse management experience
• At least 5+ years in a senior management or executive logistics role.
• Proven experience managing large warehouse and distribution operations.
• Experience managing national transport and distribution networks.
• Strong financial and commercial acumen.
• Advanced knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and ERP systems.
• Advanced Excel and reporting skills;
  Power BI experience will be advantageous.
• Strong understanding of inventory management principles and warehouse optimisation.
• Demonstrated experience leading organisational change and continuous improvement initiatives.
