Field Service Technician, Rockford, Illinois. (Direct Hire - Average 60% domestic travel).

Position Overview
We are looking for a motivated Field Service Technician who is responsible for on-site and in-house repairs of customer equipment with knowledge and hands-on experience repairing a wide range of machinery including CNC machines both in-house on-site at the customer's facility along with general service operations.
Responsibilities
- Repair and install equipment and machines
- Provide support to fellow staff and customers by answering technical inquiries in a timely matter
- Preserve profitability on all assigned jobs by ensuring work is completed within budget
- Analyze system problems, determine the best solutions with the customer and propose the type of necessary actions to be taken to solve the probl
- Update management periodically while on service call
- Accurately document all service work and supply management with completed reports
- Abide by safety guidelines and procedures
- Assist with other projects or duties as needed
- 5 + years of applicable experience (including experience as a traveling service technician with experience working on CNC machines, manual machinery, grinders, automated machines, etc. (
* Robotic experience is a plus, not required) - Comprehensive understanding of the mechanical and/or electrical systems utilized in the Machine Tool Industry or Factory Automation
- Willingness and flexibility to travel an average of 60%, including some overnights and occasional extended time away from home for large projects that may last up to a month. (With breaks to travel home every two weeks). A company van is provided.
- Excellent communication, problem solving, and leadership skills
- Interpersonal skills and track record of developing professional long-term working relationships with new and existing customers.
- Above average skills and application of mathematics
- Current state-issued driver's license with clean driving record
- Ability to lift a minimum of fifty pounds
- Industry-specific certifications are not required, but highly recommended
- Proficient with computers; including Microsoft word, outlook, and excel.
