NURSE EDUCATOR – NURSE EDUCATOR ASSOCIATE

Umpqua Community College is seeking a dedicated and innovative nursing professional to join our team as a Nurse Educator/Nurse Educator Associate. This role is ideal for an individual who is passionate about teaching, mentoring, and preparing the next generation of nurses to serve our community with excellence and compassion.
As a Nurse Educator/Nurse Educator Associate, you will develop and deliver Nursing programs, including Registered Nursing, Practical Nursing, and Nursing Assistant. You’ll teach in the classroom and clinical settings, advise and mentor students, collaborate with faculty and administration, and ensure compliance with Oregon State Board of Nursing standards. You’ll also support accreditation processes and contribute to producing reports for national accreditors, OSBN, and UCC.

Responsibilities• Develop and deliver Nursing programs, including Registered Nursing, Practical Nursing, and Nursing Assistant.
• Teach in classroom and clinical settings.
• Advise and mentor students.
• Collaborate with faculty and administration.
• Ensure compliance with Oregon State Board of Nursing standards.
• Support accreditation processes and contribute to producing reports for national accreditors, OSBN, and UCC.
- Hold at least a baccalaureate degree in nursing.
- Have the equivalent of a minimum of two years of full‑time patient care experience at the registered nurse level.
- Document competency in teaching through experience, educational preparation, or continuing education.
- Current unencumbered Oregon RN license.
- Maintain current knowledge of nursing practice for the registered nurse, licensed practical nurse, and nursing assistant.
- Be academically and experientially qualified for the level of appointment.
- Successful completion of a criminal history clearance.
- Successful completion of a healthcare drug screening.
- Current Healthcare Provider BLS card by start date.
- Immunizations and health screenings as outlined by the Oregon Health Authority and required by clinical partners.
- Proficiency with instructional and industry technology within 6 months (i.e., word processing, e‑mail, learning management system, digital and social media, Zoom and other online meeting platforms).
- Hold at least a master’s degree in nursing or a baccalaureate degree in nursing and master’s or doctoral degree in a related field with relevant teaching and nursing experience related to the teaching assignment.
- Have the equivalent of a minimum of three years of full‑time patient care experience at the registered nurse level.
