Salary Range: $49, per year (depending on relevant verifiable experience). Base ranges:
Bachelor's $49,631–83,440;
Master's $50,868–85,528.
Job Summary: Develop, plan, implement, and evaluate instructional programs for children ages birth to 5 years. Work closely with families, other agencies, participate in eligibility evaluations, provide service coordination for Individual Family Service Plans, and function as a member of a collaborative service team.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide educational consultation to EI/ECSE staff and mainstream staff in areas such as special education information, behavior management, instructional strategies/materials, child progress evaluation, and general problem-solving.
- Direct EI/ECSE and mainstream staff on legal requirements related to assessment and IFSP management.
- Assist parents and support staff to implement instructional programs prescribed by therapists (physical, occupational, speech/language).
- Follow EI/ECSE intake and referral processes and conduct necessary assessments.
- Consult on child behavior and teach management techniques to parents.
- Complete required reports, IFSPs, and other forms promptly and appropriately.
- Act as liaison between the EI/ECSE program and Head Start, community preschools, community daycare centers, and local school districts.
- Order, use, and maintain program materials and equipment.
- Collect and record data on children’s progress toward instructional goals; maintain computer-assisted database systems for individual children.
- Design, coordinate, and supervise activities of instructional assistants and volunteers.
- Assist EI/ECSE staff with all aspects of child program transition within the program and transition of children to public school programs.
- Participate in child eligibility determination decisions.
- Determine appropriate natural environments/placements.
- Serve as IFSP coordinator and/or educational consultant for selected children enrolled in community preschool and daycare settings.
- Attend staff meetings and serve on committees, advisory groups, etc., as directed.
- Facilitate staffing and placement of children determined eligible for the EI/ECSE program.
- Work a flexible schedule and travel to and from school locations in the Douglas ESD service area; may be required to travel on overnight assignments.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, special education, or a related field.
- Ability to possess or obtain within twelve (12) months of employment an Oregon TSPC license with EI/ECSE or related field endorsement.
