Umpqua Community College is looking for part-time Community Education Instructors to create and lead engaging, practical learning experiences for people throughout Douglas County.
This is an opportunity to turn your expertise into meaningful community learning—whether you're teaching a hands‑on workshop, sharing professional knowledge, helping adults develop new skills, or introducing youth and families to something new.

You don't have to be a career educator to succeed in this role. We're looking for people who bring real-world expertise, enthusiasm, and a genuine interest in helping others learn.
What You'll DoAs a Community Education Instructor, you will:
- Develop and teach approved non-credit courses and workshops.
- Create practical curriculum, handouts, activities, and other learning materials.
- Make complex or specialized topics approachable, interesting, and useful.
- Create an inclusive learning environment where participants feel comfortable asking questions and building skills.
- Manage your classroom, materials, attendance, and required documentation.
- Represent UCC professionally when working with students and community members.
- Participate in instructor training and department activities.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Knowledge and experience in the subject area you'll teach.
- Ability to work independently and manage course responsibilities.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends.
- Ability to complete electronic and paper documentation accurately.
- Valid Oregon driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Reliable internet access and an active email account for UCC's web-based systems.
- Previous teaching, training, facilitation, or workshop experience.
