Surgical Tech

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As a Surgical Tech, you will help prepare the operating room and surgical team for a variety of surgical procedures for patients. Every day you will set up surgical equipment and instruments, assist the surgical team, and ensure a sterile environment.

• Prepare and sterilize all surgical supplies, instruments, solutions, and medications.
• Meticulously organize sterile tables and anticipate surgical team needs.
• Perform accurate counts, manage specimens, and uphold the highest sterile technique.
• Ensure a safe environment, report issues, and assist with OR turnaround.
• Provide essential on‑call support with a 30‑minute response time.

Shift: Casual Part‑Time, Days 6:45 am – 5:15 pm

• High School Graduate or GED.
• AHA BLS within 30 days.
• One of the following at hire:
• Graduate of accredited program & certified (NBSTSA/NCCT).
• Graduate of accredited program, pursuing certification within 1 year post‑graduation.
• Graduate of US military surgical technologist program (16 hrs CE every 2 years).
• Documented Surgical Tech practice for 2 of 3 years pre‑2017 (16 hrs CE every 2 years).
