Telephone Service Rep PRN

Med Star Health is looking for a Telephone Service Representative (PRN) to join the Telecommunications team at Franklin Square Medical Center. As a PRN position, you will serve as the first point of contact for callers, provide general information, transfer calls, and support emergency and paging procedures. The role requires 24/7 availability and flexible scheduling to fill as‑needed shifts.

• Create and revise on‑call schedules and inform callers of coverage.
• Maintain physician and professional coverage records, including a sign‑in/out list.
• Provide answering services for designated physicians and handle paging procedures.
• Keep the hospital‑wide phone directory updated and confidential.
• Print replacement s for associates.
• Assist during emergency situations, notifying internal and external authorities and following crisis guidelines.
• Offer callers general hospital information and directions, and process incoming and outgoing calls using the Intellidesk system.
• Document troubleshooting of visitors, patients, and telephones; send emergency conference and visiting hours pages via intercom and beeper.
• Test and document code blue and panic alarm systems.
• Direct visitors, callers, and staff to their proper destinations.

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• 3 months of switchboard or receptionist experience required.
• Excellent customer service skills

Pay range: USD $18.00 – $29.74 per hour.
