Crown Coverings, Inc. is a growing commercial interiors contractor specializing in flooring, tile, countertops, painting, cabinets, and specialty interior finishes. Based in the Chicagoland area, we complete projects locally and nationally across corporate, hospitality, entertainment, education, retail, and specialty environments. The Project Manager oversees commercial interior construction projects from kickoff through close‑out. This role manages multi‑trade scopes including flooring, tile, paint, millwork, demo, and select GC tasks, working closely with field supervisors, project coordinators, estimators, and ownership. This role is ideal for a Project Manager with solid commercial interiors experience who wants project ownership within a collaborative, supported team environment. Typical projects are small to mid‑size commercial interior renovations, with a manageable number of active projects at one time.

Time is split between job sites and office coordination depending on project phase.

• Lead projects from award through completion
• Develop and manage schedules and phasing plans
• Coordinate daily activities with field crews and subcontractors
• Perform site walks to verify layout, sequencing, prep, and quality
• Ensure work is completed safely and to Crown standards

• Serve as the primary client contact
• Communicate schedule updates, issues, and scope changes
• Review estimates and scopes during project handoff Documentation & Team Coordination
  • Manage RFIs, submittals, meeting notes, and project documentation
  • Coordinate close‑out packages, warranties, and punch lists
  • Partner with Site Supervisors on field execution
  • Coordinate with Project Coordinators on deliveries and communication
  • Support Estimators with clarifications and scope alignment
  Qualifications Required
  • 5+ years managing commercial construction or interior projects
  • Strong understanding of interior trade sequencing (flooring, tile, paint, demo, millwork)
  • Ability to read architectural drawings and specifications
  • Experience managing schedules, budgets, subcontractors, and change orders
  • Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills
  • Proficiency with project management software and Excel
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to visit job sites
  Preferred
  • Experience with Schluter/Kerdi systems, moisture mitigation, and floor prep
  • Experience in occupied or phased interior remodel environments
  • Background working in subcontractor or GC‑led project teams
