Job Summary:
The CMM Programmer will be responsible for creating, editing, and running Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) programs to inspect precision components. This role involves working closely with the quality and engineering teams to ensure that parts meet stringent customer and industry standards. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, skilled in GD&T, and has a strong background in precision manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • CMM Programming: Develop, modify, and maintain CMM programs using software such as PC-DMIS, Calypso, or similar.
  • Inspection and Measurement: Perform in-depth inspections of precision components, ensuring compliance with blueprints, specifications, and industry standards.
  • Quality Assurance: Collaborate with quality engineers to analyze inspection data, identify trends, and implement corrective actions when necessary.
  • Continuous Improvement: Assist in the development of inspection techniques and methodologies to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Documentation: Maintain detailed records of inspection results, including measurement reports, non-conformance reports, and calibration logs.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Ensure the CMM and related equipment are properly maintained and calibrated, troubleshooting issues as they arise.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with production and engineering teams to resolve quality issues and provide feedback on manufacturability.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or GED required; associate’s degree in a technical field preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience programming and operating CMMs in a precision manufacturing environment.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in CMM programming software such as Zeiss Calypso Strong understanding of GD&T and blueprint reading.
  • Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in measurement and reporting.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve inspection-related issues.
  • Communication: Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
