Fabricator / Installer
Located at the Roselle, IL branch.
Job SummaryThe Fabricator/Installer at Belt Power, LLC. will be responsible for providing a high-quality, on-site conveyor belt installation and fabrications while delivering exceptional service to our customers. This role includes conducting site assessments, maintaining accurate installation and service records, collaborating closely with sales representatives, and ensuring customer satisfaction through professional communication and workmanship.
Responsibilities- Perform on-site installation, splicing, repair, and fabrication of conveyor belting products and components.
- Demonstrate working knowledge of Belt Power products and fabrication capabilities.
- Conduct pre‑installation conference calls with Sales Representatives and customers to confirm scope of work, material, and timelines.
- Execute post‑installation follow‑up calls to review completed work and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Manage personal installation calendar, travel schedule, expense reports, and installation tracking documents.
- Maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment in excellent working order.
- Proactively identify customer needs, such as reorders or preventative maintenance scheduling.
- Uphold a professional appearance and demeanor while on customer sites.
- Share best practices and technical knowledge with peers to foster team growth and efficiency.
- Participate in all required safety, technical, and professional development training.
- Collaborate with Sales Representatives during customer visits to promote service offerings and identify potential opportunities.
- Provide detailed and timely feedback from the field to Sales and Regional Management teams.
- Support regional installation goals and participate in team meetings and planning sessions.
- Assist in evaluating customer site inventory and current belting products to recommend suitable Belt Power solutions.
- Maintain accurate documentation of all service visits, including installation reports, work orders, and system updates.
- Perform in-state and out-of-state service work as needed, including overnight travel via company van, commercial flights, and hotel stays.
- Observe all prescribed safety rules and regulations.
- Required to wear Personal Protection Equipment (PPE).
- Always represent Belt Power in a professional manner.
- Organization and prioritization skills; attention to detail.
- Strong mechanical background.
- Ability to interpret and verify precise measurements using a tape measure.
- Basic math skills and computer skills.
- Mechanical aptitude.
- Adapt to changing situations.
- Strong communication skills written and verbal.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and ability to work at heights and tight spaces.
- Overtime hours and weekend work may be required.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check.
- High school diploma or equivalent education.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical or mechanical training preferred.
- 3+ years of prior experience in technical installation, fabrication, or industrial maintenance is strongly preferred.
- Work is physically strenuous, and workers are required to lift heavy packages up to 50 pounds.
- Work may require excessive bending or stooping.
- Overtime and weekend work may be required.
- Sit and drive a vehicle to perform the job.
- Employee required to climb ladders.
- Employee required to use hand tools.
- Employees will be required to use heavy machinery (e.g., forklift).
- Employees are required to organize and coordinate schedules.
- Employees are required to calibrate precise measurements.
- Employee required to problem solve.
- Received limited and/or remote supervision from Field Service Supervisor.
- May direct onsite work of other Technicians and/or Field Service Apprentices.
- Ability and desire to quickly learn new processes and systems.
- Ability to work as part of a team and collaborate with colleagues.
- Reliability, integrity, accuracy, teamwork, positive attitude, organized, intelligent, proactive, and adaptable.
$24.00 - $27.00 an hour
