About this Role

As an integral part of the energy procurement strategy team, you will manage, negotiate, plan, evaluate, and administer a nearly $5 billion a year portfolio of power and energy contracts on behalf of SCE’s customers. SCE’s portfolio includes a full range of resources, from traditional renewable and alternative energy to new and innovative energy resources such as storage solutions, distributed energy resources, and other energy efficiency products to meet the needs of nearly 14 million Californians.

Responsibilities
  • Supports analyses of potential power sale agreements across sectors.
  • Collects data capturing power price trends for various US energy markets.
  • Supports development of go-to-market strategies, including new geographic regions.
  • Supports relationships with existing and new customers in chosen customer market segments.
  • Analyzes consumer, competitor and market data to inform SCE's off-take strategy.
  • Contributes to RFP responses and marketing presentations to customers.
  • Converts data and findings into understandable tables, graphs, and written reports.
  • Develops tools for collecting and analyzing market data using statistical software.
  • Participates in developing bid packages in response to off-take opportunity requests, including RFPs and RFIs for utility projects.
  • Contributes to go-to-market strategies, including new geographic regions.
  • Ensures protection of company assets and proper handling of private customer data.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Three or more years of experience in the energy industry in power marketing or power origination or substantial project management in a similar industry or role.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in energy and energy commodity procurement in the California ISO or a similar market.
  • Experience in process development and optimization, with a focus on enhancing operational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Experience in resource and project planning, results delivery, team building, and staying current with relevant technology and innovation.
  • Project management experience.
  • Exceptional communication skills.
Additional Information
  • This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage, and the mode can be changed based on business needs.

  • This position has been identified as a NERC/CIP impacted position – prior to being hired, the successful candidate must pass a Personnel Risk Assessment (PRA) or Background Investigation.
