Overview

Rosemead, CA 91770, United States

• Pay rate: $97-$109.77/Hour

Base pay range
: $97.00/hr - $109.00/hr

Responsibilities
  • Technical Leadership:
    Lead civil engineering efforts across all project phases—scoping, design, cost estimation, scheduling, and construction support.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:

    Work closely with internal teams (project management, construction, environmental, real estate) and external agencies.
  • Field Engagement:
    Conduct job walks and provide engineering construction support across diverse geographical areas for Transmission, Substation and Distribution facilities. Can be 1–2 field days per week based on business need.
  • Contractor Oversight:
    Manage civil engineering consultants—define scopes, review proposals, ensure quality, and maintain schedules.
  • Quality Assurance:
    Perform QA for consultant deliverables, peer reviews, manage purchase orders, and approve invoices.
  • Permitting & Compliance:
    Secure necessary permits and approvals from local jurisdiction agencies for civil engineering scope and work with business partners to support state, federal and other agency approvals
  • Project Management:
    Balance multiple project schedules, provide technical leadership for civil engineering scope, monitor budgets and provide proactive communication with key stakeholders.
  • Safety:
    Embed safety into engineering designs and promote a safety-first culture both in the office and on-site.
Required Skills/Attributes

Desired Skills/Attributes
  • Experienced in land development for electrical substation facilities and transmission access in varied terrain
  • Familiarity with road and highway design
  • Familiarity with storm damage response and mitigation
  • Skilled in contractor management and purchase order oversight
  • Knowledge of California permitting processes
  • Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field
  • Experience with ArcGIS
