Cybersecurity Operations Center, Senior Specialist
Join the Clean Energy Revolution Become a Cybersecurity Operations Center, Senior Specialist at Southern California Edison (SCE) and help build a better tomorrow. In this role you’ll perform advanced threat detection, investigation, and response activities to support the 24/7 Cybersecurity Operations Center. You’ll conduct detailed analysis of security alerts, investigate complex incidents, and provide expert‑level triage and response. Our team collaborates closely with incident response, engineering, and other stakeholders to ensure rapid containment, eradication, and recovery, while continuously improving detection capabilities, playbooks, and operational procedures.
Base pay range: $140,400–$210,500 per year. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience.
Responsibilities- Conduct security risk, vulnerability assessments, and business impact analysis for medium‑complexity information systems.
- Carry out project reporting for assigned projects, monitoring status, timelines, and budgets.
- Assist in planning and implementing current and future security domains, including new service areas.
- Adopt and follow security controls, processes, and procedures to manage risk across all environments.
- Monitor technology risk, identify root causes or key themes, and recommend resolutions.
- Investigate suspected attacks, manage security incidents, and use forensics when appropriate.
- Review and shape evidence production to support internal and external audits.
- Implement appropriate security measures to control access to data and prevent unauthorized modification, destruction, or disclosure.
- Develop and maintain metrics, alerts, dashboards, and reports for security monitoring.
- Maintain incident response plans and execute incident response activities as directed and in accordance with established procedures.
- Ensure protection of physical, financial, and cybersecurity assets, managing private customer data and other highly sensitive information with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.
- Five or more years of experience in information technology, information security, or cybersecurity.
- U.S. citizenship required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Certifications such as CISSP, GISF, or GSEC.
- Experience collaborating in a team environment.
- Two or more years of experience working with triage cyber security alerts.
- This position’s work mode is hybrid. Employees are required to work and reside in the state of California, with optional remote days discussed during the interview stage.
