** Dakota County Technical College seeks a full-time, unlimited Electrician (Electrical Construction & Maintenance) Instructor to teach courses in our electrical construction program. We invite applicants who are dedicated to excellence in teaching and who desire to become part of a creative, vibrant, student-centered learning community. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to interdisciplinary and cross-cultural perspectives. Faculty members at Dakota County Technical College are professionally active scholars who participate in departmental and campus-wide activities to enhance their disciplines, promote interdisciplinary discourse and collaboration, and advance the college mission.

Instructor is responsible for all activities related to teaching and learning including, but not limited to, instructional planning, curriculum development, student evaluation and records, student recruitment and retention, student advising and placement, classroom/climate preparation and management, interpersonal relations, promote safety in all aspects of program activities, purchase supplies and equipment, participate in professional development experiences, work as an effective team member of the department, maintenance of professional skills and credentials, and participate on college committees.

** Salary Range:**$44,144. Annually  Salary placement is determined on the basis of education and experience and in accordance with the , and conducted by the Minnesota State System Office. There may be a limit on initial salary placement, please refer to the  for additional information.
** Minimum Qualifications
** Education Requirement
* Two-year diploma in an electrician program or completion of a registered electrician apprenticeship program.

Occupational Experience Requirement
* Four full-time (or equivalent) years of verified related paid work experience as a licensed electrician in residential and commercial.

Recency Requirement
* One year of this work experience shall be within the five years immediately preceding the date of application for the credential field. The recency requirement shall be waived if the individual has two years of successful full-time (or equivalent) postsecondary teaching experience in the credential field within the last five years.

Professional Requirement
* State of Minnesota Class A Journeyman Electrician License
** Preferred Qualification
*** Higher education teaching experience with a diverse student population
* Experience with learning communities or team teaching
* Experience in curriculum development
* Experience incorporating technology into curriculum delivery, including on-line instruction
* Experience developing and using student-centered, active and experiential learning strategies
* Experience integrating cross-cultural and interdisciplinary perspectives in course instruction
* Experience assessing student academic achievement of campus-wide and classroom learning outcomes
** Additional Requirement:
** In accordance with the Minnesota State Vehicle Fleet Safety Program, employees driving on college/university business who use a rental or state vehicle shall be required to conform to Minnesota State's vehicle use criteria and consent to a Motor Vehicle Records check.
