Job Description

Security Officer - Retail Roving Patrol in Rosemount, MN. You will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls and more. As a Part‑Time Security Officer, you can build a schedule that works for you and explore new roles using our Claim a Shift platform. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer in a retail distribution setting, you will conduct routine patrols throughout the location, deter security‑related incidents, and support a welcoming environment for all visitors and staff.

This role requires a valid driver’s license and involves providing exceptional customer service, assisting with security‑related matters, and maintaining clear communication while upholding our values of teamwork, integrity, and putting people first.

What You’ll Do
  • Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security‑related procedures and following site‑specific policies, including emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, maintaining a professional presence at all times.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the retail distribution center and its perimeter to deter unauthorized activity and observe for any irregularities.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and other key areas to deter theft, vandalism, and other prohibited activities.
  • Assist with access control by verifying credentials and/or identification of individuals entering the location.
  • Document and report any security‑related incidents, hazards, or unusual occurrences according to Allied Universal and site protocols.
  • Collaborate with location staff and law enforcement as needed to address security‑related concerns or incidents.
Minimum Requirements
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Alarm panel experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
