Our new, state-of-the-art public safety facility was designed with our community and our employees in mind. The facility includes:
- Large training room and Emergency Operations Center
- Large defensive tactics/mat room
- Six-lane tactical firearms range

We believe a long and successful law enforcement career requires more than physical readiness. Our department takes a comprehensive approach to officer wellness, with resources designed to support officers and their family both on and off duty.
Our wellness amenities include:
- On-site fitness center
- Sauna and Cold plunge
- Quiet and sleep rooms
- Mother's room with sink and refrigerator
- Massage chair
- City-paid heart and wellness examination every three years
Officers are also permitted to work out while on duty, when call volume and operational needs allow.
Our commitment to wellness extends beyond the officer to their family. We have an active peer support team and provide officers and their families with free access to therapists who specialize in working with law enforcement personnel. New officers and their loved ones also participate in family academies focused on building healthy relationships and supporting the unique challenges of a career in law enforcement.
We also provide 80 hours of paid parental leave, in addition to Minnesota Paid Family and Medical Leave.

- Operates a patrol vehicle or walks on an assigned shift; observes for violations of traffic laws, suspicious activities or persons, and disturbances of law and order.
- Responds to a variety of emergency and non-emergency dispatched calls for service; makes arrests; completes arrest records and testifies in court; writes clear, concise reports in order to ensure legal procedures are followed; ensures court testimony is complete and accurate and evidence is collected and maintained with exact details.
