Academic Peer Tutors for Rosenberg School of Optometry assist students in the Rosenberg School of Optometry with selected coursework during the year. Tutoring is either done individually, in small groups or in a class-wide review session format depending on need. Tutors are being sought specifically for Clinical Optometry I, Optics, Anatomy, Neuroanatomy, Clinical Optometry III , Organ Pathology, and Ocular Anatomy and Physiology II.
The Academic Peer Tutors report to the Director for Academic Success.
This applicant pool will remain online and be used to hire interested UIW students as the need arises.
This is a student position open to current Rosenberg School of Optometry students who have completed the course(s) they wish to tutor with a grade of B or higher.
Essential Functions- Provide support and tutoring knowledge in a small or large group or individual setting;
- Share knowledge of course materials in selected coursework;
- Develop a strong working relationship with assigned tutees;
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Comfort with knowledge in the course material in courses that you choose to tutor;
- Ability to work patiently with others and explain sometimes complex concepts;
- Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures;
- Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA.
Required Education
- Current Rosenberg School of Optometry student who has completed the course(s) they wish to tutor with a grade of B- or higher.
Required Work Experience
None.
Preferred QualificationsComfort working with students individually or in small groups (5-10 students) or large groups (10 or more students).
Required Certifications, Licenses or RegistrationsNone.
Work Hours- Monday through Friday 8am-5pm.
- May work up to 20 hours per week.
