Overview
Leidos has an opportunity for a Project Manager to join our Power Delivery Solutions Division. This position offers remote capabilities with local and regional travel to client offices and project sites. Candidates should be located in or adjacent to the greater Sacramento, CA area. Monetary relocation assistance is not available. Leidos supports flexible work hours/work arrangements and emphasizes career development and growth.
Responsibilities- Manage projects and programs for engineering deliverables, including risk, schedule, quality, cost, and client satisfaction.
- Coordinate with third party companies and subcontractors as required.
- Provide day-to-day execution oversight of contracted engineering work across performance, financial metrics, planning, schedule, quality, contractual compliance, safety, and client satisfaction.
- Coordinate with internal execution teams on tracking and controls of key performance indicators for project success.
- Prepare internal and external reporting of financials, project progress, and change management.
- Support internal and external client-facing meetings and maintain communications with clients, subcontractors, functional leaders, and staff.
- Assist in bid preparation, cost estimates, and responses to RFPs.
- Manage monthly invoicing, accruals, and accounts receivable within prescribed deadlines.
- Identify and pursue business development opportunities with teams.
Basic Qualifications (Required):
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, Finance, or related field and 3+ years of relevant project management experience.
- Proficiency with project management software (Workfront, MS Project, P6, or similar).
- Strong MS Office skills; advanced proficiency in Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, etc.) preferred.
- Proven experience managing project financials, scopes, and schedules.
- Ability to plan, organize, direct, and track technical efforts across multiple tasks.
- Strong understanding of project financial planning, monitoring, and reporting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- PMP certification (preferred; or willingness to obtain within the first year).
- Experience working with various contract types (Fixed Price, Time & Materials).
- Direct utility industry experience, including exposure to projects for major U.S. electric utilities.
- Demonstrated success in collaborative, team-based consulting environments.
