Position Title: Principal Electrical Systems Engineer - UAVs

Location: Roseville, CA

Job Type: Contract

Pay Rate: $70-100/hr

Clearance: Must be able to acquire and maintain U.S. DoD Secret Clearance or higher; U.S. Citizen required.

Job Description: Protingent Staffing has an exciting contract opportunity located in Roseville, CA.

Responsibilities:

• Develop subsystem and system-level test plans and reports.
• Lead and conduct various kinds of testing including hardware-in-the-loop (HWIL), software-in-the-loop (SWIL), avionics, subsystem, and aircraft-level testing.
• Lead root cause corrective action (RCCA) investigations and eliminate contributors through analysis and/or hands‑on testing.
• Work with the Software Engineering Team to develop software system requirements and test requirements.
• Support flight test planning, aircraft preparation, and test execution at government test ranges.
• Develop system architectures for new and existing systems.
• Conduct trade studies and perform design research of engineering concepts and explorations to determine optimal requirements and system architecture.
• Develop system/subsystem interface definitions, system schematics, and system design documentation; perform peer reviews of fellow team members' work.
• Participate in planning, design, testing, and deployment of moderately complex, engineered systems and software to ensure conformance with functional specifications and customer requirements.
• Lead or support system engineering technical reviews (SETR) including Test Readiness Reviews (TRR).

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in electrical engineering or related discipline.
• 11-20 years of industry experience.
• Ability to acquire and maintain a U.S. DoD Secret Clearance or higher.
• Sharp analytical abilities, excellent communication skills, and ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment.
• Demonstrated technical leadership capabilities.
• Results‑oriented, sense of ownership, urgency, and drive.
• Experience in the Defense and/or Aerospace industry is a must.
• Hands‑on integration & test experience with aircraft systems and/or subsystems is a must.
• Demonstrated testing best practices including managing test configurations, adhering to safety and training procedures, and organizing data collection and analysis.
