Meaningful Work and Personal ImpactAs a Senior CAD Engineer, the work you’ll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of customer. You will play a crucial role in providing the essential technical "map" that prevents delays and ensures the safety and reliability of all communication systems during active customer operations.
- Provides computer-aided design solutions to technical and design problems.
- Utilizes computer-aided design software to create detailed designs and technical drawings.
- Collaborates with engineers, designers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and develop design solutions.
- Performs design calculations and analysis to ensure compliance with technical specifications and industry standards.
- Generates prototypes and models to validate design concepts and functionality.
- Conducts design reviews and provides feedback to optimize designs for performance and cost-effectiveness.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Visio.
- Ability to interpret engineering red-lines and communication schematics.
- Strict adherence to standardized drawing numbering and naming conventions.
- Maintains accurate documentation and records of design changes, revisions, and updates.
- May coach and provide guidance to less experienced professionals.
- Revise existing CAD and Visio drawings for communication systems across customer facilities.
- Drafting:
Convert sketches and markups into professional Visio/CAD formats. - New System Integration:
Capture design changes driven by new system modifications into master system drawings. - Documentation:
Apply customer-specific numbering, revision dates, and gather engineer/lead approval signatures. - Ensure 100% accuracy when translating documents and red-lines to digital files.

Bachelor of Science - Experience:
5+ years of related experience - Technical skills:
AutoCAD and Microsoft Visio, Technical Reading, Detail-Oriented, New System Integration, Documentation, Quality Control - Security clearance level: NAC-I

The likely salary range for this position is $87,550 - $118,450. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
