Hardware Engineering Design Intern

This role has been designed as “Onsite” with an expectation that you will primarily work from an HPE office.

Turn what you’re learning in the classroom into real-world engineering experience. At Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE), you’ll work alongside experienced engineers developing next-generation networking products. You’ll gain hands‑on experience with real hardware, contribute to meaningful engineering projects, and build skills that can help launch your career.

• Support hardware design, board bring‑up, debugging, testing, and validation.
• Use lab equipment to measure, characterize, and troubleshoot hardware.
• Gain exposure to high‑speed digital, analog/power, and PCB/PCA design.
• Help identify technical issues and perform root‑cause analysis.
• Develop scripts and tools to support testing and engineering workflows.
• Collaborate with experienced engineers and cross‑functional teams on real product development.

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field, with expected graduation in 2028.
• Completed or currently completing your third year of study.
• Coursework, projects, or hands‑on experience with electronic circuits and hardware.
• Familiarity with lab equipment and circuit measurement.
• Exposure to high‑speed signaling, analog/power, PCB design, or CAD tools is a plus.
• Experience with Python, Perl, TCL, or similar scripting languages is a plus.
• Strong problem‑solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Most importantly, curious, motivated, and excited to learn by doing.

You’ll work on real engineering challenges, learn from experienced hardware engineers, and see how ideas move from design and lab validation toward real‑world networking products.
