Under immediate supervision of the Controller, the senior accountant performs a variety of accounting activities, including daily and monthly account reconciliations, posting and verification of financial data, financial and regulatory reporting, and other general responsibilities. This position also provides support for the Bank's tax compliance, reporting, planning, and related accounting activities.

• Assist with the preparation and coordination of federal, state, and local tax filings and related documentation
• Prepare and maintain supporting schedules, reconciliations, and documentation related to income taxes, tax provisions, deferred tax assets and liabilities, and other tax-related accounts
• Assist with quarterly and year-end tax provision processes and provide supporting documentation for financial reporting purposes
• Monitor tax filing and payment deadlines and assist in ensuring required filings and payments are completed accurately and timely
• Research and assist with tax-related inquiries, notices, and requests from external parties
• Maintain organized tax records and supporting documentation and assist with internal and external audit requests
• Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes as assigned.

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance or equivalent experience preferred
• Minimum 3 to 5 years of accounting experience in a public or private company
• Prior experience supporting corporate income tax preparation, tax provisions, or other business tax compliance preferred
• Banking or financial services industry experience preferred
• Proficiency with Excel, Word and other reporting software
• Ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment
• Strong analytical skills with emphasis to attention to detail

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is in regular communication, is required to use various tools or objects, and have the mobility to move about the office. The employee occasionally lifts and/or moves objects up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
