Police Officer - Lateral & Academy Graduate

the roseville police department is hiring sworn police officers.

• employment as a sworn police officer with a california p.o.s.t. Certified agency or successful completion of a p.o.s.t. Approved police academy by date of appointment
• receipt of california p.o.s.t basic course waiver by date of appointment counts towards experience.

• equivalent to completion of the twelfth (12th) grade, ged, or a higher level degree from an accredited educational institution.

• possession of a valid california driver’s license by date of appointment.
• possession of one of the following:
  • a current california p.o.s.t. (peace officers standards and training commission) academy graduation certificate
  • post proof of eligibility (poe)
  • basic certificate
  • basic course waiver by date of appointment
• must obtain cpr and first aid certificates within the first 12 months of employment.
• must be age 21 by date of appointment.

employees must be tobacco free and cannot use tobacco products on or off duty.

• all candidates meeting the minimum qualifications will have their application scored in a formula rate examination. The applicant’s experience and education will be evaluated using a pre-determined formula. Scores will determine applicant ranking and placement on the employment list.
• supplemental questions will be utilized by the department hiring authority to make interview and selection determinations.
• final appointment is contingent upon a check of past employment references, a city‑paid fingerprint check, a pre‑employment medical exam, drug and alcohol screening, credit check, license and/or education verification, psychological examination, and/or an extensive police department background check process.
