Job Description
Powers Miller is a 10‑attorney Roseville insurance defense law firm seeking an attorney. The attorney must have an active California Bar License in good standing.
What can you expect from Powers Miller? The case load is diverse, and you can anticipate working on personal injury actions involving motor vehicle accidents, products liability, homeowners’ claims, premises liability and commercial litigation. The new associate will work with the partners and handle depositions, pre‑trial preparation, hearings, mediations and appeals. Associates who have a desire to try cases will be given the opportunity to do so, but if the associate would rather assist in trial preparation, we have many cases where that associate can work with the trial attorney.
The law firm billable hour requirement is 1,920 hours per year or 160 hours per month. There is a potential for significant quarterly bonuses based on productivity. The associate will work with a legal assistant who has significant litigation experience.
What is Powers Miller looking for in an associate attorney? An attorney interested in taking depositions, preparing, and responding to discovery, and pre‑trial preparation as well as handling all aspects of insurance defense matters. Finding an associate who enhances our firm culture is extremely important. The firm is congenial with several attorneys and staff having worked here for well over 10 years.
Compensation: The base starting salary range is $100,000 to $200,000 depending on experience. In addition, the firm provides quarterly bonuses, exclusively based upon productivity. Given the diverse work at the firm, associates currently at the firm routinely receive bonuses. The firm offers 80 hours of vacation time which is accrued throughout the year.
We cover 100 percent of employee premiums for health and dental insurance and 50 percent of the premiums for any employee dependants. We have a 401k plan and contribute 3 percent of the employee’s total compensation to their 401k account.
If you are interested in joining a well‑respected, south Placer County defense firm where you will be given work autonomy, the ability to obtain significant productivity bonuses and belong to a firm that values its culture, please submit a resume to us at
