American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse Case Manager for an acute care setting, requiring a CA RN license and 2 years of acute Case Management experience.
Details- Case Management unit within a hospital setting
- Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours (8:00 AM-4:30 PM)
- Monday through Friday schedule with no weekends
- No on-call responsibilities
- Active CA RN license required
- Minimum 2 years of experience in ACUTE Case Management in California required (excluding Kaiser)
- Outpatient Case Management, Home Health, or Health Plan Case Management experience will not suffice
- Broad knowledge of healthcare delivery and case management within a managed care environment
- Comprehensive knowledge of Utilization Review, levels of care, and observation status
- Working knowledge of CMS, Title 22, CHA Consent Manual, CDPH, and TJC regulations
- Knowledge of post-acute levels of care and associated regulatory compliance requirements
- Strong verbal, written, and negotiation communication skills
- Excellent time management skills for a high-volume, fast-paced environment
- Intermediate computer and technology skills
- Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC) required
- Nursys license verification uploaded within the last 2 weeks required
- Two supervisor references obtained within the past year required
- Coordinate care and collaborate with physicians, nurses, patients, families, and ancillary partners
- Promote quality patient care and a positive patient experience
- Exercise independent judgment and sound decision-making with physicians, payers, and families
- Support teamwork and effective collaboration across departments
- Accepts local candidates at the local rate within a 50-mile radius
- Returning staff must have a minimum 1-year separation before returning as a traveler
- Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract
- Only one holiday request approved per contract, covering New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day
- Must be available for lab work within 3-5 days of contract signing
- 7-year work history verification required for all candidates
