- Inspect raw materials, in‑process components, and finished products using precision measuring tools and specialized inspection equipment.
- Work closely with production, engineering, and management to identify defects, maintain compliance, and drive continuous improvement.
- Use micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and CMMs to assess production dimensions and tolerances.
- Perform visual inspections to detect defects or non‑conformities and document findings.
- Review and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to ensure accurate product measurements.
- Assist in troubleshooting quality issues and coordinate resolution with the production team.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by providing feedback and insights from inspections.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or technical certification in quality control, machining, or a related field preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in a quality inspection role within a gear manufacturing or precision machining environment.
- Proficiency with precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, CMMs).
- Strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
- Familiarity with gear‑specific standards helpful.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and process sheets.
- Knowledge of CNC machining, heat treatment processes, and material properties is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
- Manual dexterity and visual acuity to inspect small, precise components.
- Comfortable working in a factory setting with exposure to noise, heat, and machining operations.
