Position: Teaching Assistant – School Hours

Axcis Education is recruiting for a Teaching Assistant to work at a school on the outskirts of Hereford. The role starts in September and runs Monday to Friday, 8:30am–3:30pm, during term time only.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will primarily work on a 1:1 basis with a pupil who has an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). You will support the pupil both in and out of the classroom, helping them access learning and settle into school life.

Responsibilities
  • Provide consistent support to the pupil throughout the school day.
  • Assist the pupil in accessing learning activities and resources.
  • Support classroom tasks, including transitions between activities.
  • Build a positive relationship with the pupil to facilitate their success.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience working with children on a 1:1 basis or within an educational setting.
  • Ability to build rapport quickly, adapt to the pupil’s needs and support wherever required.
  • Appropriate qualifications for the role and willingness to provide an up-to-date DBS (or allow Axcis to process one).
Benefits and Conditions
  • Hourly pay of £14.25.
  • Training and ongoing support throughout placement.
  • Temporary contract, unless stated otherwise.
  • Salary / Pay Rate may be adjusted based on skills and experience.
