Product Engineer

Product Engineer sought by the Windows division of a £multibillion construction products manufacturer to join their team in Ross-on-Wye. This global organisation has nearly 200 locations worldwide and supplies to a range of industries including construction, industrial and automotive industries.

Due to retirement, they have an opportunity for a Product Design professional with construction industry experience to join their head office Technical department.

Your Role as Product Engineer:
As a Product Engineer, you will report Head of Production Management, as an integral part of the Technical team.

Your duties will include:

• Designing window profiles, doors (including sliding & patio) – around a dozen different systems, with multiple variations within those systems
• Working on new and existing products (circa 50/50 split depending on experience)
• Designing new types of window profiles and doors, and managing changes and developments to existing products
• Working on around 2-3 projects at any given time
• Direct liaison with fabricator clients, giving information and responding to queries regarding technical information etc.
• Taking the lead on some projects including product testing (weather performance, security etc) ensuring that products adhere to British Standards
