Rotherwood Education are currently recruiting for an experienced Ex Assistant Head / Deputy Head (Pastoral) to join a school in Burnley on a full-time, ongoing basis, starting ASAP. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate and resilient leader with a strong pastoral background to make a meaningful impact.

The Role

You will play a key role in supporting students’ wellbeing, behaviour, and personal development, working closely with staff, pupils, and external agencies to ensure positive outcomes for children with additional needs.

The Ideal Candidate Will:

* Have previous experience in a senior or pastoral leadership role

* Demonstrate a strong understanding of EBD and SEND needs

* Hold a PGCE, QTS, or equivalent teaching qualification

* Be patient, empathetic, and calm under pressure

* Show adaptability and a proactive attitude

* Be a team player who can also work independently

* Have a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs

* Be open to training and ongoing professional development

Requirements:

* Proven track record or relevant school-based experience

* A current enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to apply for one

* Relevant references to support your application

* Willingness to attend a face-to-face registration and complete all vetting checks
