Summary

The role is for classroom support for an assigned year group – initially Year 6, however you must be flexible and respond to the needs of the school as appropriate and instructed by your Line Manager.

Contract Details

The post available is initially for 30 hours per week on a variable hour’s contract, with the minimum hours being 17.5. Initially employed 8:30-3:30pm Monday to Friday with a 30 minute lunch break. Part of the duties of the successful applicant may include lunchtime duties (Welfare Officer @ FLW for 30 minutes). This position is part time; salary quoted is full time equivalent.

If successful the salary received will be paid on a pro-rata basis.

Safeguarding

The school governors take the issue of safeguarding the pupils and the successful candidate will be required to obtain an enhanced DBS Certificate. In line with Keeping Children Safe in Education 2025, an online search will be carried out as part of our due diligence on shortlisted candidates.

Essential Qualifications
  • Childcare/Teaching Assistant relevant qualification (Min. Level
    2)
  • Mathematics & English Grade C / 4 or equivalent
Desirable Qualifications
  • First Aid
Essential Experience
  • Experience of working with or caring for children of KS2 and Year 6.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Good communication, time management & organisational skills.
  • Knowledge of the concept of confidentiality.
Desirable Experience
  • Experience of working in a relevant classroom/service environment.
  • Experience of Administrative work.
  • Experience of supporting pupils with challenging behaviour.
