Salary: £22,160.62 per annum

Hours:

37.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday

Contract:

Fixed term – 12 months, Term Time Only. Start:

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Pupil Support Worker/Teaching Assistant to join our specialist education team. You will play a vital role in supporting students – many with autism and complex needs – to access learning, develop independence, and achieve their full potential.

What you'll be doing
  • Support the class teacher/tutor in delivering high‑quality, engaging learning experiences for all students.
  • Provide tailored 1:1 and small‑group support to help students access the curriculum as independently as possible.
  • Assist in creating a structured, stimulating classroom environment suited to students with autism and complex needs.
  • Contribute to the development, implementation, and review of individual plans, including IEPs, BSPs, risk assessments, and communication profiles.
  • Prepare and produce learning materials and resources as directed by the class teacher/tutor.
  • Support students during on‑site and off‑site activities, ensuring safety through effective planning and risk assessment.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a multi‑professional team, maintaining strong communication with education, care, and therapy staff.
  • Promote students’ physical, emotional, social, and moral development in line with organisational values.
What you will bring
  • GCSE's Grade 4/C or above required.
  • Compassionate, patient, and committed to supporting young people with additional needs.
  • Able to work collaboratively within a multi‑disciplinary team.
  • Confident in managing challenging behaviour with a calm, consistent approach.
  • Organised, proactive, and able to follow guidance while using initiative.
  • Willing to learn, develop, and adapt to meet students’ needs.
