About the Role

Do you believe that relationships are at the heart of learning? Are you passionate about helping children overcome barriers, rebuild confidence and rediscover a love of education?

At Belmont School, we're looking for an exceptional Nurture Teacher to lead our Nurture Group and create a safe, supportive environment where pupils can flourish academically, socially and emotionally. This is much more than a teaching role. It's an opportunity to make a profound difference to the lives of children who need understanding, consistency and someone who truly believes in their potential.

At Belmont School, we recognise that children's learning is understood developmentally and that emotional wellbeing underpins success. As our Nurture Teacher, you'll lead a small group of pupils with a range of social, emotional and behavioural needs, providing highly personalised support through a carefully structured and nurturing approach. You'll create a classroom that feels safe, predictable and welcoming-a place where pupils can build trusting relationships, regulate emotions and experience success.

Working closely with families, support staff and external professionals, you'll remove barriers to learning and empower pupils to achieve outcomes they may never have thought possible.

Every interaction matters. Every small step forward is celebrated. Every day is an opportunity to change a life.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Plan and deliver engaging, tailored lessons that meet individual needs
  • Lead and develop the Nurture Group provision, embedding nurture principles in daily practice
  • Build strong, trusting relationships that support pupils' emotional wellbeing and development
  • Monitor, assess and track progress, ensuring EHCP targets are met and exceeded
  • Create a structured, nurturing environment balancing learning, routine and care
  • Support and guide support staff, including timetabling and classroom practice
  • Promote positive behaviour and attitudes to learning using consistent, therapeutic approaches
  • Work collaboratively with parents, carers and external agencies to support each child's journey

About you

We're looking for someone who is:

  • A passionate and inspiring teacher committed to improving outcomes for vulnerable pupils.
  • Qualified with QTS or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Experienced in supporting pupils with social, emotional and behavioural needs.
  • Knowledgeable about nurture principles, attachment and child development.
  • Skilled at building positive relationships with children, families and professionals.
  • Creative, flexible and able to adapt learning to meet individual needs.
  • Calm, resilient and confident managing behaviour through restorative approaches.
  • Experienced in leading and supporting classroom staff.
  • Committed to continuous professional development and reflective practice.
  • Dedicated to safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of children and young people.
