Are you an experienced senior leader ready to shape an ambitious curriculum across both primary and secondary specialist education?
We’re looking for an inspirational Deputy Headteacher, Curriculum to provide strategic curriculum leadership across Belmont Primary School and Belmont Secondary School. The schools operate from two separate locations, and you’ll work across both settings, supporting the educational journey of pupils aged 5 to 16 years.
This is an exciting opportunity to influence curriculum, teaching, learning, assessment and pupil progress across two specialist schools. Working alongside the Headteacher and wider Senior Leadership Team, you’ll ensure that provision is ambitious, inclusive and personalised for pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH).
You’ll bring consistency and ambition across both settings while recognising the different needs of primary and secondary pupils. From strengthening curriculum pathways and raising teaching standards to developing colleagues and improving assessment, your leadership will help ensure pupils experience a clear, progressive and meaningful journey from age 5 through to 16.
Lead the curriculum strategy across Belmont Primary School and Belmont Secondary School, ensuring provision is ambitious, inclusive and responsive to pupils with SEMH
Provide visible leadership across both school sites, building strong relationships with staff and ensuring consistency in curriculum expectations and practice
Drive the quality of teaching and learning across both schools, using observations, learning walks, work scrutiny and professional dialogue to promote consistently high standards
Lead assessment, progress tracking and data analysis, ensuring pupil progress is understood across different ages, stages and curriculum pathways
Develop, coach and inspire teachers, Subject Leaders and support colleagues, creating a culture of high expectations, professional development and continuous improvement
Lead curriculum planning and organisation across both settings, including appropriate pathways, timetabling, staffing and effective use of resources
Line manage Subject Leaders, the Assistant Head Inclusion and Assistant Head Outcomes, providing appropriate challenge, guidance and support
Work alongside the Headteacher and wider Senior Leadership Team on school improvement, self evaluation, financial planning and strategic priorities across both schools
You’ll be an experienced and credible education leader who understands that an exceptional curriculum should create opportunity, raise aspirations and provide a meaningful pathway for every pupil.
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Significant teaching experience alongside senior leadership experience within an SLT
Strong knowledge and experience of curriculum design, development and implementation
The ability to provide effective leadership across two separate school sites
A successful track record of improving teaching and learning
Experience using assessment, progress data and evidence to drive improvement and improve pupil outcomes
