Salary: £22,075 to £22,425. The post holder will work 39 weeks per year.

Summary:

Site Supervisor & Driver (Grade

C)

Site Supervisor Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate cleaning staff to maintain high standards of cleanliness.
  • Work collaboratively with the site team to ensure building and grounds are well maintained.
  • Carry out minor repairs and general maintenance tasks, such as replacing light bulbs, fixing door handles, and unblocking sinks.
  • Ensure the effective operation of heating, lighting, and security systems.
  • Maintain outdoor areas, including clearing pathways, managing waste disposal, and ensuring playgrounds and car parks are safe.
  • Manage stock levels and ensure cleaning supplies and equipment are replenished as needed.
  • Act as a key holder, securing the premises and responding to any emergencies.
  • Ensure all health and safety regulations are followed, including COSHH requirements.
  • Support with deep cleaning and site maintenance during school closures or holiday periods.
Driver Responsibilities
  • Drive a range of vehicles, including specially adapted and commercial vehicles, ensuring safe and efficient transport of pupils and staff.
  • Carry out daily vehicle safety checks and basic maintenance to ensure vehicles remain roadworthy and clean.
  • Assist passengers, including securing wheelchairs and supporting safe entry and exit from the vehicle.
  • Load and unload goods safely, utilising lifting equipment when necessary.
  • Report any vehicle defects, incidents, or mechanical issues in accordance with school procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records and complete necessary paperwork.
  • Support school trips and community activities as required.
  • Adhere to safeguarding procedures and promote pupil well‑being at all times.

Additional requirements:

  • Hold a D1 licence; minibus duties are required.
  • Have local area knowledge; beneficial.
  • Open to recruitment of ex‑offenders and require a DBS disclosure.
  • Under Keeping Children Safe in Education 2025, an online search will be carried out for shortlisted candidates.

This position is part‑time, term‑time only. The salary quoted is full‑time equivalent and will be paid on a pro rata basis.
