Trailer Fitter

We’re on the lookout for a Trailer Fitter/Mechanic to join Buckhurst Plant Hire’s Rossendale depot, based in Lancashire.

Buckhurst Plant Hire was established in 1993 by the Walsh family. From our humble beginnings in a small yard with only a handful of machines as our offering, the company has grown phenomenally in size since then. Buckhurst, with an annual turnover of £15 million, is now operating from several depots across the UK and Scotland with over 2000 pieces of machinery and plant.

Buckhurst now employs over 140 dedicated people across our depots and field-based roles, whilst working hard to retain that small business family feel from the early ’90s.

Trailer Fitter/Mechanic

The principal role of the fitter/mechanic is to repair & maintain our extensive fleet of plant & agricultural trailers to the highest standards. This includes equipment from manufacturers such as Indespension, IFOR Williams, HERBST, Marshall, JPM, etc.

• Repair & locate faults with equipment in line with manufacturer recommendations and in a timely fashion to ensure minimum downtime.
• Carry our PUWER inspections for all equipment.
• Follow the procedures and guidelines to ensure compliance with our ISO
  9001 quality management system.

• Previous experience in a similar role at least 3 years.
• Understanding of hydraulic systems, and electrical systems.
• Checkable references and qualifications.

• A professionally recognised qualification in plant maintenance and repair.
• Excellent communication & organisational skills.
• A full UK driving license.
• A good knowledge of fixing plant trailers.
