Support inclusive classrooms at Rossland Summit School through assessment and adaptive teaching strategies. This temporary assignment is 0.286 FTE through November 27, 2026.
School District No. 20 seeks a Student Support Teacher with BC Certification and inclusive education preparation. The work includes supporting students with disabilities or diverse abilities, including Autism Spectrum Disorder. You will collaborate with teachers, families, students, staff, and district or community resources.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized education plans
- Conduct classroom, curriculum-based, and diagnostic assessments
- Support, model, co-teach, and collaborate around inclusive practices
- Supervise and support Educational Assistants and Child Care Workers
- Facilitate use of the school’s Sensory Lab
- BC Certification and Bachelor of Education or equivalent training
- Previous teaching experience in Inclusive Education
- Expertise in teaching and behavioural management strategies
- Formal Woodcock Johnson III Achievement Test training and experience
- Knowledge of assistive software and Microsoft Office applications
