Senior Data Analyst/Databricks Developer

A Pyspark and Databricks Developer with a good understanding of the entire ETL/Azure lifecycle and a background in data projects.

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL processes using Azure Databricks, Data Factory, and other Azure services.
• Implement and optimize Spark jobs, data transformations, and processing workflows, managing Databricks notebooks, Delta Lake with Python, and Delta Lake with Spark SQL in Databricks.
• Leverage Azure Dev Ops and CI/CD best practices to automate the deployment of data pipelines and the management of infrastructure.
• Ensure data integrity and quality checks, achieving zero percent errors when deployed to production.
• Stay current with Databricks new features such as Unity Catalog, Lake Flow, DAB Deployments, and Catalog Federation.
• Perform data extraction (including schemas, corrupt records, error handling, and parallelized code), transformations, joins, and production optimizations (automating ETL).
• Recognize and monitor risk within your functional area, adhering to all policies, procedures, laws, and regulations, and report any violations to the appropriate company authority promptly.
• Perform other related duties as required.

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Three years of experience in information technology, including collecting business requirements related to data usage, performing data mapping, conducting data quality assessments, and developing and writing new automation.

• Understanding of reporting and/or visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, SSRS, SQL Server).
• Knowledge of a variety of technologies, data models, and insights across all relevant data sources.
• Understanding of governance principles.
• Understanding of concepts such as data mining, extraction, and analysis as they pertain to specific bank pillars (e.g., Commercial, Retail, Wealth).
• Analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to quickly shift between technology stacks.
• Ability to mentor and train team members.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in data engineering or similar roles.
• Proven expertise with Azure Databricks and data processing frameworks.
• Strong understanding of data warehousing, ETL processes, and data pipeline design.
• Experience with SQL, Python, and Spark.
• Excellent problem‑solving and analytical skills.
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
