Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Vice President / Director of Preconstruction to lead and expand our preconstruction department. This role offers significant autonomy and ownership over preconstruction processes, team development, and estimating practices. The ideal candidate will combine leadership, technical expertise, and business development experience within healthcare and commercial construction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and grow the preconstruction team (currently 3 members, expanding to 4+), providing mentorship and development.
  • Oversee all aspects of preconstruction, including estimating, scheduling, client communication, and proposal preparation for projects ranging from $1M–$15M
    .
  • Deliver accurate, high‑quality estimates and proposals on time, meeting client expectations.
  • Collaborate with project managers and executives to support strategic growth initiatives.
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients, healthcare systems, and stakeholders to secure new opportunities.
  • Develop and implement standardized preconstruction processes and tools for efficiency and accuracy.
  • Participate in talent acquisition for preconstruction and other key hires.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, communication, and client focus within the department.
Qualifications
  • Experience: 10–15+ years in preconstruction leadership roles, ideally within healthcare construction.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Proven ability to manage and grow preconstruction teams.
  • Strong skills in estimating, scheduling, and project planning.
  • Business development experience and existing client relationships are a plus.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with executive leadership.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
