Position SummaryReporting to the Sales and Service Manager, the Hard Goods Associate engages customers across the Hard Goods areas—Simulators, Putting Green, Club Repair, and Accessories—to drive sales and enhance customer experience. The role involves front‑end operations (returns, exchanges, promotions), maintaining merchandise presentation, assisting with club fitting, and cleaning the environment while delivering exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities- Engage every customer with world‑class service and build lasting relationships using PGATSS Service behaviors.
- Seek out and interact with customers throughout Hard Goods areas.
- Maintain knowledge of front‑end operations (returns, exchanges, gift cards, lesson redemptions, loyalty, promotions, coupons) and assist as needed.
- Ensure Hard Goods areas are stocked at a premiere level to support sales and experience.
- Keep all equipment and supplies maintained and operational.
- Keep the Hard Goods area clean and professionally presented.
- Demonstrate in‑depth product knowledge and explain features, benefits, and differences to customers.
- Perform proper fitting by applying PGA TOUR Superstore fitting techniques.
- Maintain ethical conduct, safety, and compliance throughout all departments.
- Assist customers with club fitting: selecting shaft, grip, and specifications.
- Stay updated on merchandising promotions and marketing events; support the promotion lifecycle via The Links bulletins.
- Champion product and service offerings; inform, educate, and promote to customers.
- Provide consistent feedback to the Sales and Service Manager on operational and merchandising opportunities.
- Only PGA Members and Apprentices in good standing with the PGA of America are eligible. Proof of membership must be provided.
- Strong listening, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Basic computer skills; working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to organize multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 2+ years retail sales or similar experience preferred.
- Must stand for extended periods, climb up/down a ladder, move throughout the store, and lift up to 30 lb. overhead.
- Must maintain flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Ability to quickly learn business acumen with appropriate training. Demonstrate strong self‑accountability and proactive drive for results.
