The Sales Support Representative plays a crucial role in bridging the gap between sales strategy and execution. The SSR helps the sales pod operate efficiently by handling the administrative, operational, and customer-facing support tasks.
The Sales Support Representative supports sales operations by handling quoting, order management, customer communication, and follow-up tasks that enable the Global Account Manager and Sales Development Representative teams to focus on closing deals. They act as the operational backbone of the sales function.
Base pay range$40,000.00/yr - $65,000.00/yr
Duties & Responsibilities 1. Handle Administrative Support- Prepare quotes, proposals, and sales documents
- Enter and update customer information in the CRM
- Process orders, contracts, and renewals
- Manage calendars, schedule meetings, and coordinate demos
- Assist Sales Development Reps with account follow-up and documentation
- Respond to customer emails, RFQs, and support requests
- Provide basic product or service information
- Route leads or questions to the correct salesperson
- Help maintain service levels with fast response times and accurate information
- Monitor open opportunities and follow up on missing items
- Ensure accuracy and cleanliness of CRM data Track deal progress and remind sales reps of deadlines or next steps
- Work with operations, onboarding, marketing, and finance to support deal flow and ensure smooth order fulfillment
- Coordinate with fulfillment or implementation teams after deals close
- Help prepare sales materials (presentations, PDFs, one-pagers)
- Pull weekly/monthly sales reports
- Maintain dashboards (pipeline, forecasting, activity reports)
- Track KPIs like lead volume, conversion rates, or rep performance
- Create purchase orders, sales orders, and invoices
- Validate pricing, discounts, and approvals
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and legal requirements
- Track customer order history, availability, and lead times
- Help reps use CRM/software tools
- Manage sales assets and documentation
- Support training of new sales team members on processes
- 1–5+ years in inside sales, customer service, or sales support
- Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail
- Comfortable handling quotes, pricing, and order management systems
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Highly self-motivated and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
- Proficiency with CRM and ERP systems
- Industry knowledge and experience is a positive attribute, but not mandatory.
High school diploma required; an Associate's or Bachelor's degree is preferred.
