Job PurposeTo assist the dentist effectively and efficiently in providing dental care to patients and to promote Familia Dental's culture, mission, and values.

Responsibilities- Welcome and escort patients in a professional and friendly manner from the reception area to treatment areas.
- Ensure treatment rooms are equipped and stocked with inventory; reorder when necessary.
- Take and record patients' medical and dental histories and vital signs, including blood pressure and pulse.
- Document/chart all dental procedures performed during each patient visit per Dentist's instructions and legal requirements.
- Take and develop dental diagnostic X‑rays.
- Pour and base diagnostic models and fabricate temporary restorations – as allowed by state law.
- Sterilize and disinfect instruments, set up instrument trays, prepare materials, and assist the dentist during procedures.
- Provide dental education and information to patients to ensure awareness of dental health and oral hygiene strategies.
- Notify the Office Manager of equipment trouble or general safety concerns.
- Attend and participate in morning huddles, chart reviews, and regular office meetings.
- Recognize and be sensitive to patients’ emotions.
- Understand and follow company policy and procedures.
- Understand and follow state and federal laws related to a dental office.
- Other tasks as assigned.
- Exceptional customer/patient service skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and listening skills.
- Basic computer knowledge and experience with dental management software;
Denticon experience is preferred. - Ability to work in a fast‑paced, patient‑focused environment.
- Detail oriented.
- Ability to carry out written and verbal instructions.
- Organizational and time‑management skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Meet state requirements for DA duties, continuing education, or license;
Basic Life Support (BLS), cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certificate, and radiography certificate. - Dental assisting experience is preferred, but not required.
- Experience working within healthcare or a related field is strongly preferred.
Working hours between: M‑F, 8:30 AM – 6:30 PM;
Sat, 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM.
- Part‑time employment: 2+ days a week, 29 hours or less per week.
- Available to work Saturdays, when needed.
- Multiple half‑day shifts or fewer full‑day shifts.
