Environmental Remediation Technician – WSP USA, El Paso, TX

Job Description

As part of the Texas Remediation Services Team, you will support groundwater treatment system operations, maintenance, and environmental sampling programs. The role is based in the El Paso office but may be done remotely from the Texas Panhandle, Permian Basin, or other West Texas and Eastern New Mexico locations.

Opportunity

The position will be tied to our El Paso, Texas office but we will consider staff living in the Texas Panhandle, Permian Basin area or other locations in West Texas or Eastern New Mexico. The ideal candidate will have 5 years’ proven experience in troubleshooting, repairing and upgrading remediation systems, and experience with groundwater monitoring and soil sampling. An engineering degree with two years’ remediation experience is also acceptable.

Impact
  • Support groundwater treatment system operations and maintenance.
  • Assist with implementation of environmental soil and groundwater sampling programs.
  • Maintain field documentation – daily notes, monitoring logs, O&M inspection logs, and entry of data into spreadsheets/tablets.
  • Travel and field work: collecting samples, moving pumps and hoses, and other physical tasks.
  • Other duties as assigned by Environmental Leads.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Minimum five (5) years proven experience in troubleshooting, repair and upgrades of remediation systems, with groundwater monitoring and soil sampling experience; or an engineering degree with at least two (2) years in system operations/monitoring.
  • Ability to multi‑task, prioritize evolving project requirements and work in a high‑pressure environment with tight delivery deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and properly document field data.
  • Proven communication skills, team oriented, detail oriented.
  • Physically able to lift 50 lbs and perform strenuous tasks such as moving pumps.
  • Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and MS Office.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Travel will be approximately 50‑75 %.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.
