Position: SCSEP Coordinator [Temp Position]

Social Services Coordinator

Goodwill Industries of New Mexico is looking for a Social Services Coordinator to assist low-income seniors in obtaining employment training and reaching their employment goals. This temporary position through June 30, 2026 allows you to work one‑on‑one with individuals 55+ in your community, providing employment skills training, community advocacy, and more.

Pay Range

$20.00/hr – $20.00/hr (starting at $20.00/hr, negotiable depending on experience)

Job Type

Temporary (through June 30, 2026), guaranteed 38 hours per week.

Location

Roswell, NM (travel required throughout the Albuquerque metropolitan area)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Adhere to Goodwill’s attendance and punctuality policies.
  • Exhibit excellent customer‑service skills.
  • Develop individual employment plans and job‑search plans to assist persons served in eventual community employment; assist persons served in preparing for and carrying out job interviews.
  • Coordinate placement into a host agency; facilitate host‑agency training and hiring process and coordinate a service plan with the funding agency.
  • Provide training to host agencies and co‑workers working with program participants.
  • Perform other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.
  • Travel as required based on caseload and scope of work.
  • Contact participants and perform initial intake interview to identify personal strengths, needs, financial status, and barriers; evaluate program eligibility.
  • Orient participants to Goodwill Industries of NM policies, procedures, mission, programs and services, grievance procedures and confidentiality policies.
  • Refer persons served to other support services as needed, such as medical evaluation, treatment, and social services.
  • Conduct ongoing assessments to determine if the services accessed are meeting or have adequately met the person served’s needs.
  • Acquire host agencies and build and maintain collaborative relationships with community agencies.
  • Track and document participants’ activities in relation to the program; maintain accurate records.
  • Complete all required documentation within designated time frames, including case notes, program documentation, and required reporting.
  • Oversee participants in their assigned areas and ensure the program is carried out in compliance with policies, procedures, and contract guidelines.
  • Attend staff meetings; provide verbal communication on participants and receive new referrals.
  • Maintain standards and practice in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and required professional standards.
  • Enhance professional growth through participation in educational programs, reading literature, attending in‑services, meetings, and workshops.
  • Ensure HIPAA compliance.
  • Ensure safety of all persons served under supervision.
  • Implement CARF standards and follow professional ethics as set in the Code of Conduct/Business Ethics policy.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all privileged information.
Requirements
  • Knowledge of organizational practices, policies, and procedures and compliance with the same.
  • Knowledge of and compliance with all safety policies and procedures.
  • Skill in operating various word‑processing, spreadsheets, and database software programs.
  • Skill in gathering, analyzing, and organizing information.
  • Skill in working effectively under pressure.
  • Ability to travel around the Albuquerque metropolitan area and surrounding areas.
  • Ability to exhibit excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English.
  • Ability to carry out instructions in verbal and written format.
  • Ability to interact and maintain good working relationships with individuals of varying social and cultural backgrounds and people with disabilities.
